The Spidra Fans are sexy and flexible fans intended to resolve a lot of grip issues that people have shared with us over the years. First, and most obvious is the generous gunspin ring. No more wondering if you can get two fingers in, this ring will accommodate your whole hand. But the "head" of the spider is a second gunspin ring the size of our other fans, but on the other side of the center of gravity. This allows for a whole new type of spin. And the middle hole is the center of gravity, so whole new types of spinning may arise.
For safety, we've added a thermoplastic handle. This will allow for easy carrying, but also provides a secure place to hold the fan no matter how you hold it, or work it to overheat temps. The "knees" of the back legs also form spin stops so you can use all three to know exactly where you've stopped spinning without having to look down at the fan.
And, for the first time, we are offering this fan in two configurations:
- You can get the same, bright, hot, hybrid wicks as on the great fans and perfect torches. They give great big burns with alcohol or white gas fuels (but shouldn't be used with lamp oil or kerosene).[left side of image]
- Or, you can get a spiral wrap kevlar wick like our fire fingers and eating torch, for use with any fuel you like. [right side of image]
"Really, unless you make things directly for the public, you have no idea how particular people can be. Build a fan with room for one finger to gunspin, and they want room for two. Build one with room for two and they want three. This may be a bit overkill, but they work nicely. These fans started out as an aborted customer request for a 'tree' fan and ended up being something of a niche hit. " -Tedward
