The referral system was implemented in October 2007 in order to thank our customers who help to build our business. Essentially it is a code that you receive that is unique to you. You may give it out to friends, students, strangers, post it on websites, whatever. Then, each time someone orders from us, and they use your code, you get a referral point. You then redeem these points when you order. Typically, these points will cash in at $1 per point.
How it works
To use the referral system, you must open an account with us. No purchase is necessary, the account is free. As part of the process you will be assigned a random set of letters and numbers that will be your referral code. You can retrieve your code by logging in and looking at your account page. At the bottom will be the referral information including your new code and your current point status.
Copy the code exactly. The code is case sensitive, exactly 8 characters long, and initially random. Provide this code to whomever might use it. Then, when they order from this web site, they will see a place to use the referral code in the check out process. There are places to add referral codes in both the delivery and payment pages. As soon as their transaction has completed you will be awarded a referral point.
How to spend them
Once you have referral points, you can spend them on any order you make. In the same area on the payment and delivery pages where you have the option to add a referral code, you may also be told your current point status, and be given the option to spend those points. Just enter in the number of points you wish to use, up to your full amount, and continue. The point value (typically $1 per point) will be deducted invisibly from the amount you are charged.
Caution: Please do not attempt to use your own referral code on purchases you make. You must use someone else's code to refer.
Custom Codes
The initial code is a random string of characters, but it doesn't have to stay that way. We are able to customize these codes, and will gladly do so for regular customers, groups, schools, whatever. However, because each code must be unique, there will be a screening process for each custom request and your first choice is not guaranteed.
