Punkins are little, round, hybrid fire wicks. They're the standard design on our (and others') hoops, multiwick poi, and other inventions. The nice part of these is their round shape. It makes for smaller, longer burning flames, but still plenty bright enough for most applications. The hybrid design was originally built to make for longer burns, but it turns out that they work wonders with alternate fuels like alcohol, MEK and other fuels that don't burn well on kevlar alone.
The downside to the cotton core is that cellulose reacts with long chain hydrocarbons (like kerosene and lamp oil) to form a smolder. This is a type of flame-less fire that can creep through the protective kevlar layer. So, your choice of fuels is more limited than kevlar-only wicks.
Sold Inividually.
